TLE converters are used as one of the main equipments of ethylene production units in Amirkabir Petrochemical Complex.
One of the phenomena that can occur in the lower and upper tubes of these converters is corrosion as well as cracking in the material used, which can occur as a result of various process and metallurgical factors. This leads to severe damage to the converter and causes the production process to stop.
Due to the fact that the converters are used in high temperature conditions, so the possibility of cracking in them due to the activation of the mechanisms of degradation of steels at high temperatures is greatly enhanced. Accordingly, in the framework of the project to investigate the root causes of destruction, the technical and process causes of this destruction were identified.
